: Migrating from University of Iowa Wiki to SharePoint Online or Confluence Cloud

The University of Iowa Wiki is undergoing a significant change, and all content will be migrated to either SharePoint Online or Confluence Cloud by June 1, 2024. This migration is not a straightforward 1:1 process, so there may be some differences in the availability of content and how it is presented. Fortunately, this service comes with no cost to departments or users.

For those interested in migrating their content from the University of Iowa Wiki, please contact the Office of Teaching, Learning, and Technology or submit a workflow for a new Sponsoring Unit and provide an MFK to cover the license costs for your users ($44 per user per year). This service is available until June 1, 2024.

Another option is to migrate content directly from existing Wiki spaces into Confluence Cloud spaces. However, please note that we will not be able to recover any content after January, as this is the date when all on-premise resources related to the old Wiki will be decommissioned.

After June 1, 2024, only offline archives of your content in PDF or HTML format will be available. Unfortunately, we will no longer be able to perform migrations to Confluence Cloud or migrate content to SharePoint Online.

If you still need access to your content that was previously stored on the old Wiki but did not capture or migrate it previously, there are some options available. If you have already moved your content to Confluence Cloud, you can navigate to the new University of Iowa Wiki site, as all content that we received a request to move is now being hosted in the cloud.

On the other hand, if you reached this page, it may be because you are trying to access something that was stored on the old on-premise system. The migration to Confluence Cloud has been completed, and any requests for content recovery should be directed to the Office of Teaching, Learning, and Technology.
